The Blisadona tunnel is part of the extension of the Arlberg-railway line. The tunnel was erected by the New Austrian Tunnelling Method (NATM). The tunnel consists of a double-track tube, a parallel running single-track tube in the area of the station “Langen am Arlberg” and of a single-track connection tunnel to the existing line.

The Blisadona tunnel with six switches was equipped with ballast-less track with elastically supported track base plates. The ballast-less track has a modified surface so that vehicles (ambulance and fire brigade) can drive into the tunnel, too. The total length of the ballast-less track is 4,750 m.
