Stuttgart 21 Lot C
FCP designs tomorrow’s railway infrastructure with trend-setting engineering skills.
Within the scope of the large-scale project Stuttgart 21 we contribute to the increase in efficiency and modernization of the rail traffic with innovative solutions. Our focus is on the planning and implementation of the sub-project Lot C, which comprises essential route sections like the feeding system Obertürkheim, the junction Untertürkheim as well as the Filder Tunnel.
Main Focus. Infrastructure
Location. Stuttgart, Germany
Client. ARGE FF PORR S21
Services. Approval, detailed structural and as-built design of the ballast-less track
Participating CCs. CC Railway Engineering

Our services range from approval and detailed structural design to as-built design of the ballast-less track including accessible level-crossing systems in tunnel, trough and earthwork structures on a length of approx. 33 kilometres. In this connection we rely on proven, tested and future-oriented technologies for an optimization of the rail infrastructure.
A central aspect of our work is the integration of state-of-the-art vibration protection methods. In areas with special requirements regarding vibration protection all-over supported light floating track slab systems with a tuning frequency of 25 HZ as well as highly elastic rail support points with a tuning frequency of 31 Hz are used to minimize noise and vibration loads of the rail traffic.
Furthermore, we have introduced the ballast-less track system Slab Track Austria (also known as FF-System PORR) on an asphalt base layer for the first time in the control range. This innovative construction method replaces the conventional concrete and hydraulically bound sub-base, which enables a quicker, more sustainable and more cost-efficient installation. In the area of the turnouts the FF-System RHEDA 2000 provides for maximum operational safety.
The project Stuttgart 21, as part of the comprehensive upgraded and new route Stuttgart – Ulm – Augsburg, considerably contributes to the redesign of the railway junction Stuttgart. The sub-project Lot C is implemented on behalf of the consortium FF PORR S21.
FCP is proud of being able to contribute to the further development of one of Germany’s most dynamic traffic infrastructures and to provide sustainable and innovative solutions for the railway traffic of the future with our expertise in the CC Railway Engineering.
