Rehabilitation of a building that has existed since the 15th century.

The corner house at Steindlgasse – Kurentgasse is situated in the oldest part of the city of Vienna and has been repeatedly recon­struc­ted and extended in the course of urbanistic development. Based on the examination of the historic stocks the structure can be dated back to the 15th century where it already had today’s basic structure.

All floors were completely refurbished in the listed building and a single-person lift was installed. During the reconstruction works polychromatic designs were exposed at the walls and the reveals. Furthermore, a late medieval polychromatic strap-beam ceiling was detected on the first floor, which was extensively restored according to the wishes of the Jesuits and with the integration of the Federal Monuments Office.

The building was completed in February 2023 and was inaugurated in May 2023.
