S 3 Hollabrunn Nord to Guntersdorf
Extension express highway
The extension of the S 3 Weinviertler express highway from Hollabrunn to Guntersdorf increases the traffic safety and serves for traffic relief in the region.
In cross-border traffic the Weinviertler road has heavily gained in importance since the expansion of the EU. International traffic connections in the direction of the Czech Republic and further to the north run via the border crossing Kleinhaugsdorf.

For the reasons mentioned above a top road connection shall be established from Vienna to Stockerau (A 22) via the S 3 in northern direction. The bases were documented in numerous studies (Lower Austrian traffic concept, study of the BMVIT (Austrian Ministry for Traffic, Innovation and Technology), corridor studies of the eastern region and general Austrian traffic plan) and finally implemented by the resumption of the S 3 in the annex of the federal road law. The new section has a length of 11 kilometres.
