Redesign of Christian-Broda-Platz
The redesigned Christian-Broda-Platz has been transformed into a green and welcoming gateway to Mariahilfer Straße. The comprehensive redevelopment, completed at the end of 2024, enhances the area's quality of stay with 35 new trees, over 1,300 sqm of additional green space, water features, and seating opportunities. By spring 2025, the foyer of Vienna's largest shopping street will be in full blooming glory.

Participating CCs CC Traffic Design
CC Traffic Design undertook the redesign of the formerly asphalt-dominated square on behalf of the City of Vienna, MA28. The transformation also includes the adjacent area of Mariahilfer Straße up to Kaiserstraße as well as the Gürtel junction. The elimination of one traffic lane has made way for physically separated bike paths, while simultaneously increasing traffic safety for all. New greenery, misting nozzles, and light-colored pavement create a pleasant microclimate.
The construction work, which began in March 2024, has been completed on schedule. With the redesign, a modern, climate-resilient urban space has been created that encourages sustainable mobility and significantly improves the quality of stay in the heart of Vienna.
