Sustainable Living for the Future
On the area of a settlement “Am Wienerfeld West“, built in the 1940s and now in need of rehabilitation, a modern residential neighbourhood with 300 flats, a subterranean garage with approx. 200 parking spaces, a local supplier and premium open areas is established in several construction phases for all residents. The objective is an affordable, flexible and versatile rented residential project which convinces by its ecological construction method and social sustainability.
Our services:
As part of the consortium FCP+wup we are responsible for design-build, fire protection, building physics, drainage planning, health & safety engineering, consultation on the “klimaaktiv” standard as well as tender procedure and cost management.
Innovative wood-hybrid construction
The project relies on a wood-hybrid construction, which offers numerous advantages for the environment, the residents and the construction industry:
✔ Resource-efficient & climate-friendly – The combination of wood and concrete enables a sustainable use of material. Wood as renewable raw material reduces the CO₂-footprint.
✔ Healthy indoor climate – Wood naturally controls air humidity and provides for a pleasant living climate.
✔ Fast construction method & high quality – The prefabrication of wood and concrete elements enables a short building period, precise design and minimizes building wastes.
✔ Social sustainability & neighbourly spirit – Jointly usable areas like the “joint water basin” promote exchange and encounter among the residents.
✔ Efficient energy use & climate protection – The innovative energy concept with thermo-active building systems as well as intelligent shading provides for energy-efficient living with reduced heating and cooling needs.
Current situation:
The first sample block with 11 flats is currently built. The interior works are in progress, the first settlement is planned for the end of summer 2025.
