Tram Line 18 – Noise and Vibration Protection Technology
The existing tram line 18 shall be extended over Stadion Bridge, through Prater up to the underground railway station U2 "Stadion" and a terminal loop in the area of Meiereistrasse and Handelskai. Apart from the reconstruction of the current terminal loop, the future route comprises an approx. 3.1 km long new route and 7 new stops. The new extension shall start operation from autumn 2026. The extension makes currently created city development areas accessible and establishes a significant cross connection between the 2nd and the 3rd district.
FCP performs noise and vibration protection surveys along the new route for the protection of the neighbours. On the basis of noise and vibration measurements forecast calculations were done to determine those sections where protective measures are required.
